I didn’t find this reading particularly interesting mostly because he seemed to focus a lot on teaching and his education, but the way he wrote it did intrigue me. While I was reading it, it felt like he was still in the military mode. His mindset had been changed and he wrote that way and even displayed his lift that way. At one point, Fussell mentioned that he couldn’t even ride the bus without thinking about where a good spot to set up a machine gun would be. That’s insane! It was so many years later, but what had been drilled into his brain had never left.
